The series "Mutation" observes structures of human mobility in an urban environment, by breaking the movement of people over a certain area into sequences. These sequences create one final image in the form of a mosaic, where time is made visible by the changes in the observed fraction of space.

Each image was created using the same crop of one of the cities' very common "non-places", in a Marc Augé sense. Subway corridors, staircases, tram-stops, supermarket entrances, regular places of orderly motion.
Questioning the traditional function of photography as a means of conservating an image frozen in time, the series reflects on current issues and trends in media, related to new possibilities that inspired the redefinition of photography and video.

Ultimately, the series presents modern urban society as one single organism, where the question of it being able to be measured or regulated is left open.
